Premier Technology Business Network Meeting Was a Glowing Success!
Focused on bringing technology people together, the Technology Business Network saw nearly 50 technology professionals connect with others in their industry at the Premier luncheon on March 3 held at Grille 29.
Representatives from more than 30 technology companies stood up, shared with the group their company’s mission statement, and briefly explained what products and services they offer. See the list of companies at right.
Ted Gulas of The Gulas Group shared his strategy for forming friendships and getting the most out of networking. His question as to whether the group considered themselves introverts or extroverts drew an interesting response – both personalities have their benefits. While the extroverts have no fear of walking up to a stranger and sharing their ideas, introverts are usually the better listeners.
Chip Wilson of Landsberg shared his thoughts on what he would like to accomplish with Technology Business Network. He wants to be able to connect on a personal level with those technology professionals he would not ordinarily meet. If people can connect in a social setting like Technology Business Network, it will eliminate having to go through gatekeepers; bouncing emails back and forth; and playing phone tag. In other words, Technology Business Network should be a help-us-help-you forum so we can all help each other.
John Stough of NearMe Networks walked everyone through the new Technology Business Network website with its online registration for monthly luncheons but he is also encouraging a proactive approach to growing the group into an online informational community. Since the first meeting, he has added an Online Forum where you can post and share information with other attendees.
What are you looking for in a good lead? What requirements would make up the perfect referral?
Think about that question because beginning with the May 5 Technology Business Network luncheon, we will be calling on representatives from two companies each month to stand up and tell the group what it takes to make the right connections! The two presenters every month can bring their best marketing collateral to the meeting and distribute it: newsletters, brochures, marketing presentations, etc.
